What is SIELE?

SIELE certifies the degree of proficiency for Spanish language with four tests: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and spoken expression and interaction. The exam also takes as a reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

SIELE is the Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española. It electronically certifies

command of Spanish language proficiency for students and professionals.

Single test with no ''pass'' or ''fail'' result:

Get certified at the level of competency you demonstrate to have (A1, A2, B1, B2, or C1).

You are required to register for the

specific level of competency you wish to get certified for (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, or C2).

There are no pre-defined dates: You can choose the day and time of your exam, plus which of the 4 modules(s) testing communicative competencies you wish to do on that day.

You must select one of the pre-defined exam dates published by the DELE examination center of your preference. You must also complete all parts of the test on the same day.

You will receive your results and certification in a maximum of 3 weeks, which is ideal for people who need to get certified as soon as possible.

Results take approximately 2-3 months after the test to be published (plus weeks more before the diploma finally arrives).

Your SIELE diploma will be valid for 5 years.

Your DELE diploma will be valid life-long.

EXAMINATION DATES AND WHERE TO TAKE THE TEST:

SIELE Preparation course at Peruwayna

This program has been carefully designed to help students successfully obtain the international diploma SIELE (''Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española'').

Each class session focuses on practice exams that - just like the real exams - contain the following sections:

Listening comprehension
Reading comprehension
Written expression and interaction
Oral expression and interaction

The course includes a review of grammatical subjects needed to successfully pass the test. In this way, students receive training according to their individual needs while focusing on solving exam questions.

Additionally, our program includes a final mock interview with two interviewers at the same time. This will prepare students for the oral expression and interaction section on the actual SIELE exam.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take the test from home?

Even thought this test is completed using a computer (online), it can only be carried out inside the facilities and under the supervision of an official examining center approved by the SIELE organization. The SIELE examination center of your preference will provide you with all the necessary technology and/or tools you need to take the test such as a laptop, computer, headphones, microphones, etc.

What Universities endorse the SIELE?

SIELE has more than 75 Associated Universities present in 20 countries in Latin America, Canada, China, and South Korea, which cooperate in the research of Spanish language teaching, back the quality of the content, and contribute innovative didactic material. The excellence of these institutions is one of the keys to the academic prestige of SIELE.

How much is the fee to take the SIELE test?

The fees for taking the SIELE test varies from country to country, and the current price for taking the SIELE Global in Lima, Perú is €145 as of December 1, 2019. You can complete your payment online at the official SIELE page once you select the country of your preference.

If you prefer to take one module at a time, you can also choose to pay for either the SIELE S1,S2,S3,S4, or S5 (each level has a different price)

What level of diploma do I need to obtain to get accepted at a university program taught in Spanish?

Most university programs taught in Spanish and related to liberal arts would request a B2 diploma. In the other hand, programs related to sciences and hard sciences would request a B1 diploma. However, this may not always be the rule so we strongly suggest you to find out your university requirements ahead of time.

Do you offer a SIELE preparation course?

Yes! Peruwayna offers a SIELE preparation course to help our students not only become familiar with the structure and rules of the test, but also to perfect their Spanish skills and put them into practice before taking the real test. Before signing up for the test, we strongly suggest you to first assess your Spanish level with one of our coordinators (for free) in order to estimate your chances of obtaining the diploma you're looking to get based on your current Spanish skills.

Does the SIELE organization offer a SIELE preparation course as well?

Yes! Their course includes videos to explain how the test works and teaches strategies to complete its various tasks, interactive activities and guided activities. You will learn strategies for each of the component tasks that make up each test, and complete a final practice test applying what you have learned under conditions identical to those of the exam.
